Gorgeous vintage Young Republic roll-top writing desk from Tell City, Indiana. Crafted from solid hard rock maple and finished in a rich warm caramel stain.
Desk features a tambour roll-top that opens to a fitted writing interior with divided cubbies and storage compartments. Two small drawers run across the upper gallery, with additional drawers below, including a wider center drawer accented by decorative brass hardware. Slender turned legs and traditional molding.
The original Young Republic maker’s mark remains inside the drawer—a great detail that speaks to the quality and provenance of the piece. Young Republic was a Tell City Chair Co. furniture line, and these pieces are known for their traditional solid-wood construction and craftsmanship.
Very good to excellent vintage condition with light wear from age and use.
32” W x 18” D x 43” H
Drawer interiors and rails have been polished and conditioned with orange oil to ensure a smooth finish and glide.
